Redo Policy: Most babies cooperate with us DURING THEIR VISIT, BUT IF YOURS DOES NOT, WE WILL HAVE YOU BACK FOR A NO-COST ADDITIONAL VISIT (OR RESCAN) WITHIN 14 DAYS OF YOUR ORIGINAL VISIT. IF WE ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE GENDER BECAUSE OF YOUR BABY'S POSITION OR CORD PLACEMENT WE WILL HAVE YOU BACK AS EARLY AS THE NEXT DAY TO GET A DETERMINATION. IF BABY IS STILL NOT COOPERATING, WE WILL EXTEND A DISCOUNTED (AT LAB COST) GENDER DETERMINATION BLOOD TEST TO GUARANTEE BABY'S GENDER. (YES, THIS IS IN ADDITION TO THE COST OF THE GENDER SCAN SINCE WE HAVE NO WAY TO CONTROL THE BABY'S POSITION)
IF YOUR BABY WAS SHY AND WAS FACING YOUR BACK OR COVERING THEIR FACE AND NO FULL FACE IMAGES WERE CAPTURED, WE WILL OFFER YOU A RESCAN WITHIN 14 DAYS. WE TYPICALLY ONLY OFFER ONE ADDITIONAL SCAN AT NO COST. WE OF COURSE CAN NOT GUARANTEE BABY'S POSITION OR IF THEY WILL DECIDE TO SHOW THEIR FACE BUT WE WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO CAPTURE GREAT PICTURES.
3D is a still image, while 4D adds the dimension of motion, so it looks like a video and has more defined detail in the images. 2D is what most "normal" scans are done in black and white.
2D and 4D ultrasounds use the same frequency as your doctor uses for a standard 2D ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been used for over 35 years, and there have been no proven side effects from their proper use. We strictly adhere to the FDA's standards.
No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective scan.
We've had 23 guests at once, but we can make every effort to accommodate your entire group comfortably if it's larger. Please let us know if you are planning a large group, and we will make sure to bring in more seating for everyone.
From 25-34 weeks, to see detailed facial features. Between 27 and 32 weeks, your baby develops more fat and gets a more defined face. After 34 weeks, it becomes increasingly difficult to get good pictures because the baby is running out of room. However, all babies are different, and we have been successful in obtaining great images up to 39 weeks.
From 14+ weeks, we can determine the gender with very high accuracy. If gender cannot be seen (due to the baby's position or dehydration), we invite you to return on a weekday, and we will rescan you at no additional charge within the next 14 days. The need for a return visit is usually due to the baby's position or lack of fluid.
Drink plenty of water several days before your appointment to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear. About half an hour before your 4D/HD ultrasound scan, try to drink a fruit juice, smoothie, or milkshake so that your baby will be awake during your session (unless your physician tells you not to).
We currently accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Zelle, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Venmo, and Cash (sorry, no checks)
Most of the time, we can get great images, but not always. Sometimes, if the baby is looking face down or toward the mom's spine, we are unable to get images (it's like trying to take a flattering selfie from behind), or if the baby is lying against the placenta. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and the mother's condition. Anterior placenta, lack of fluid, scar tissue, and large body mass can make it harder to obtain images, but we can usually get great images in all situations. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of whatever parts of the baby can be seen. Drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated helps make it possible to get the best images.
Fetal position and good fluid are the number one determining factors in the quality of your images. Some babies come ready for viewing, and great images are obtained. Placenta position, scar tissue, and large body mass can occasionally make it slightly harder to get super sharp images. Others simply turn their backs, cuddle up to the placenta or the uterine wall, or insist on putting their hands and feet in front of their faces. We will try hard to make your baby move so you can see the face. Drinking juice or eating something with a bit of sugar 15-20 minutes before your session.
WATER! is the best answer for improving your images. You should drink plenty of water starting at least 7 days before your scheduled appointment. Water can improve ultrasound quality. You don't need a full bladder for your session, but your hydration is a huge contributor to good fluid around the baby.
It is our number one priority at Luxe Baby Ultrasound to obtain the absolute best images of your baby & make sure you are fully satisfied. We use the top-of-the-line ultrasound equipment to ensure this; however, some factors that determine the outcome of your ultrasound are out of our control, such as the location of your placenta, the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby, the clarity of the amniotic fluid, the baby's position, & the overall fetal environment. If we are unable to determine your child's gender or obtain 3D/4D images at your scheduled appointment due to the factors mentioned above, you will be asked to reschedule & come back for a second appointment within 14 days of your original appointment date, at no charge.
Breech position is when the baby's head is located at the top of your uterus & feet are down. If you know your baby is breech before your 3D/4D ultrasound, we advise rescheduling your appointment a few weeks later to allow more time for the baby to turn.
Good pictures can be obtained with breech babies, but they are not guaranteed. Some babies remain breech until very late in the pregnancy or never turn. If this is the case, you can still do a 3D/4D ultrasound, and we should be able to get good images if you have plenty of amniotic fluid.
If you are full-figured, you should not be afraid to have a 4D elective ultrasound. You will need to have a high level of amniotic fluid to obtain clear images of the baby. If you drink the recommended amount of water before your appointment, we should be able to obtain great images!
